Multiple Options Available
Clinical Psychologist
Session fee: $250
Medicare Rebate: $141.85
Out-of-pocket: $108.15
A standard 50-minute appointment with a Clinical Psychologist is $250 for in-person and tele-health consults.
Doctor Referral
If you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), you will receive a Medicare rebate of $141.85 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, making your out-of-pocket cost $108.15.
Please speak to your GP or psychiatrist about obtaining a MHCP to see if you are eligible (see below for infographic). GP’s will often prefer for you to book a long appointment to discuss and prepare a MHCP. Once you obtain this, please bring it to your first appointment or ask them to fax it through to us as we will need it to process the rebate.
The full session fee is due at the end of your appointment and your Medicare rebate can be claimed on the same day. Medicare will deposit the rebate into your nominated bank account usually within 24 hours (longer on weekends).
Private Health
If you prefer not to use a MHCP but have private health, please contact your individual provider to determine what may be covered. Each provider and individual plan varies. As a general rule, MHCP’s often pay more than private health but it is worth comparing your individual coverage. We will email you the invoice to submit your claim through to your provider.
NDIS or DVA
If you are covered under NDIS, you may be eligible for $222.99 of each appointment to be funded depending on your individual plan. If you have a gold card through DVA, you may be eligible to have all of your session fee covered. Please contact your provider to advise on your individual situation.
